Winner in the ‘Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation’ category 

The German Design Council’s jury of marketing experts recognised the new brand strategy developed for the Jakobsberg Hotel & Resort with the German Brand Award 2017 in their ‘Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation’ category.

The brand relaunch spearheaded by balleywasl* positioned the upmarket four star property as a destination hotel for conferences, incentives and pleasure travel.

Silver Intermedia Globe Award

balleywasl* has been awarded an Silver Intermedia Globe Award in the Corporate Print Business-to-Customer category for its work on Kempinski’s client magazine. The magazine’s media mix and its editorial consistency convinced the jury at the Tourism WorldMediaFestival. balleywasl* has been consulting for the Switzerland-based international hotel group since 1993. For almost a decade now, the full-service communications agency in Munich has been ensuring that four issues of the discerning digest are available for guests staying in Kempinski’s European hotels. Nurtured to grow into an ambassador for the brand, the publication was expanded to include a Middle East & Africa edition in 2010, followed by an iOS app, an eMagazine and a facebook page. ‘Consistency pays off. Beyond surviving in a field that has proven quite difficult at times, we’ve also managed to navigate through every crisis without missing a single publication deadline.’ said Albert Wasl when asked about the long-term collaboration.

Silver Intermedia Globe Award

balleywasl* has been awarded an Silver Intermedia Globe Award in the Online Advertising: Campaigns category for the creative concept it developed for Meliá, the world’s largest resort provider: 'Urlaub wie vor 30 Jahren’ (Holidays like they were 30 years ago). The idea, design and execution convinced Meliá to give the Munich-based agency the nod over a number of significant international competitors that had also submitted proposals. According to the agency’s founder, Albert Wasl, ‘We wanted to conjure up the memories and nostalgia from family vacations using snapshots from the ‘70s and ‘80s. We then built upon this emotional foundation with attractive early booking discounts to emphasise Spain and Croatia as desirable destinations so they spring to mind when young families are planning their next holidays.’ Conceived for German and English speaking countries, the campaign doesn’t just play the nostalgia card: it’s also an homage to Gabriel Escarrer Juliá, the man who founded Meliá back in 1956 and one of Spain’s tourism pioneers.

 

 

TOP HOTEL AWARD 2012

Best hotel opening 2012

For its work behind the scenes as it pertains to the launch of the Bell Rock, Europa-Park’s fifth hotel, balleywasl* was awarded with the Best Hotel Opening 2012. Jurors were impressed by the visual quality of the concept storyline and the content that afforded the creative team at balleywasl* a myriad of opportunities to integrate it within a wide communication spectrum including advertising, pre-arrival and collateral.
