Hotel culture of Bad Tölz
The city of Bad Tölz positions itself anew
Having accumulated a wealth of health-related expertise over many decades, Bad Tölz is now applying its competency in the field to satisfy the market’s upcoming demands. At the core of the comprehensive city marketing strategy is a renaissance of Bad Tölz’s spa district and a renewal of its hotel culture.
From the time its iodine springs were discovered onwards, the name Bad Tölz has been synonymous with wellness, wellbeing and health. As a moor spa and ‘cure destination with healthy climate’, the city has continually adapted to changes in political policy and general commercial conditions. Despite this, health care reforms and society’s ongoing individualisation mean that the city’s provisions are no longer sufficient to secure it a significant position within Europe’s Munich Metropolitan Region. Having recognised this, Bad Tölz’s leaders are putting forth plans to expand upon the city’s wellness foundations and transform the destination into a hub of health-related infrastructure. Setting their sights on the next decades, Bad Tölz’s leaders are backed by qualified city planners, experienced hotel specialists and the communication agency, balleywasl*.
The centrepiece of the plans is a concept with the working title, ‘Das Tölzer Seminar’ - a unique interactive combination of conferences health, and wellness. In conjunction with innovative destination promotion, it will serve as the main prong for new provisions and services presented and marketed in the future. Part of a strategic trident, the seminar campus is complemented by a health forum and concrete plans to revitalise the former spa district. Under the direction of Albert Wasl, the agency boss who consults the city’s project group in matters of marketing and communication, an information brochure has been created to explain the concepts to residents and involved parties while providing potential partners and investors with information. Backed by the brochure, the think tank went public with the results of their six month development phase on the 27th of October 2011.
